Exploring the Kentucky River

When I started this adventure I did not know how long it was going take. I put the project on the backburner many times. I always came back because it is important to me to have a history of the locks. The locks are a state treasure and will be preserved because the dams provide a pool of drinking water for Winchester, Lexington, Frankfort and all the cities along the river.

I would like to see all the locks, lock houses, and land turned into parks with boat ramps. Lock and dam 1 is next to  General Butler State Resort Park and could become a part of the park. The was named after  William Orlando Butler.
